Henya,

Very insightful and an excellent breakdown of who he was and what he was about. In my opinion, Carlin was one of a very small group of comedians that could be called genius. Did I agree with his jokes, subject matter and opinions all of the time? Of course not, that's the whole point and goal of truly great comedians, they're going to piss everybody off at some point, but you'll think while laughing. His pace and delivery were also top shelf. Favorite skits of mine were the 7 dirty words list (followed by the expanded list which was even funnier) and his routine about 'A place for his Stuff'. Great job with this.

Thank you, Jim. Carlin was a genius. Unlike today, he had freedom of speech. I wonder whether he would have been that appreciated had he had to confront today's red tape.

I am 66; I grew up with George Carlin starting in the 1970s. Johnny Carson, SNL and, of course, the comedy albums. Carlin and Richard Pryor were my favourites for no-holds barred comedy.

As they were my favorites. But the freedoms of yesteryears allowed their unique freedom of expression.
